Steal This Look ...

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

I've been wanting to do this since we got back from Quilt Market so hopefully now that I'm putting it out there, I will finally find/make the time to do some fun sewing just for me. When I do find/make the time ... this look is definitely tops on the list.

One of the first people we met at Quilt Market was the super cute and super sweet Trish of Two Peas in a Pod. If you happened to miss my blog post on Trish and her Two Peas in a Pod patterns, you should definitely check it out. Trish is one talented momma and we are so happy to be stocking her patterns!

Now, back to the reason for this post .... check out the jacket Trish is wearing ...

I absolutely LOVED it! So much so that I finally let her know how much I loved it. Come to find out, it's actually an altered version of the Liverpool Tunic pattern from Amy Butler which we just so happen to have in stock. Yippee!!

It's a pattern that I've had my eye on for some time and even blogged about it here. So while I still think it would look divine made using Pond in Twilight from Pat Bravo's Paradise collection, I'm leaning towards making into a jacket like Trish did using either Lovesme Lovesmenot Golden or Lovesme Lovesmenot Petal from Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush collection.

From what I remember, she said it's the elbow length version but without the collar and buttons ... so basically, she made the pattern even easier! Sweet!

Please, please, please let me find/make some time to get this made before we run out of the fabrics.

I Vow ...

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

... never to travel again without having cute makeup bags to take with me when I have the skills to make cute ones!

I've been fortunate enough to go on some fun trips in the last few months and each time I took along my sad, overstuffed, broke-down makeup bag. There is nothing cute or fun about it anymore but yet there it is every time I go to pack. I mean seriously! The dang zipper broke MONTHS ago but yet I'm still taking it along nevermind that its contents end up scattered throughout the suitcase. UGH!

So today as I unpack my suitcase and gather up my scattered goods, I vow to never travel again without having a proper makeup bag or bags and by-golly they will be cute!

I can't think of a more perfect fabric collection than Modern Affair by Pat Bravo.

This collection is all about vacation and fun!

So now I'm off to first gather all my stuff from the extents of my suitcase and then track down some cute tutorials for new makeup bags. I'd also like to make a cute travel jewelery bag to go with it. If y'all know of some tutorials, please help a sista out! I'd post a pic of my current bag, but it's far to sad and embarrassing.

Will definitely be posting an update once I get everything made.
