A Nicey Jane Giveaway!

Monday, August 23, 2010

Our sweet friend, Jessica took full advantage of the sale we having going on now and went on a bit of a Nicey Jane buying spree the other day. You can read all about it on her fantastically funny blog, Narnia Mum.

While we were talking to her she let it slip that she was going to have a blog giveaway for 4 fat quarters from the fabrics she bought, so we just had to throw in 2 extra fat quarters just for her to giveaway. That brings the total to 6 Nicey Jane fat quarters up for grabs on her blog this week. Woot!

We highly recommend you high-tail it over to her blog. And she's not just giving you one change to win, oh no, she's giving everyone up to 6 chances ~ woohoo!

For those who are mosey-ing over from Narnia Mum, WELCOME to Lola Pink Fabrics! We'd love for you to hang around and get to know us. You can generally find us hanging here on the blog, on Twitter, or on our Facebook Fan Page.

Good luck, everyone!!

Feature Friday - Bellabini Boutique

Friday, August 20, 2010

Today's Feature Friday is none other than Eva of Bellabini Boutique. Woot! She makes some seriously adorable children's clothes and blankets using amazing fabrics.  Don't believe me ... just check out these super cute pillowcase dresses. I love how bright and fun her fabric choices are.

For those who don't know Eva, she is a super sweet mom to an almost one-year old little girl. Growing up with a love for crafting and sewing, she started sewing baby items during her pregnancy and finally opened up Bellabini Boutique during her third trimester.  I especially love her personalized tees with pinwheels. So cute!!
Along with the fabulous children's clothes, Eva also makes awesome birthday/anniversary banners.  Love the colors in this one .. so fun!

We highly recommend checking out Eva's shop, Bellabini Boutique or stalking her around the web on her blog, Facebook, and twitter! And if you're a member of Martha Stewart's Dreamers into Doers, you should definitely friend her there.

We wish her all the best and hope all her dreams come true!

Plus I love the names of the fabrics .. Exuberance, Joy, and Solace.  Such great names!

Pat was inspired by a trip to Paris and has said that everything she saw there was like she was in paradise, hence the name. The prints are beautiful and the colors .. deep plum, pink, fuchsia, and green are gorgeous.

We should have Paradise in the shop and ready to ship out on Friday, August 20th!  I just love getting new fabrics in!  Any ideas for what we should make first with these gorgeous fabrics?

Feature Friday - Pretty and Preppy

Friday, August 6, 2010

With Feature Fridays we'd like to start showcasing shops who are using our fabrics or using fabrics in such a way that inspire us and hopefully you. We thought it only fitting for our first Feature Friday to be Pretty and Preppy. Yes, I know .. it's our shop but honestly without Pretty and Preppy there would not be a Lola Pink Fabrics and we are SO grateful for the turn of events that have brought us here today.

Our biggest sellers right out of the gate on Etsy were our eco-friendly water bottles and travel mugs made using the gorgeous fabrics.  What's been great lately is being able to make the eco-friendly products using all the fantastic organic fabrics we've been stocking. Such a win-win!

If you're looking for a large water bottle that you don't have to worry about, our stainless steel water bottle with wrap is perfect! They hold 25oz. of water and the insulated wrap keeps your hand from getting cold and wet when gripping it. Plus you can get extra wraps and change the look of your water bottle with ease. Sweet!

Our Pretty Water Bottles became an instant star as soon as we debuted them and I can definitely see why! They are a little bit smaller than the SS water bottles but have a large mouth so you can add ice easily plus they do such a good job of showing off the fabrics!

And then we can't leave out our Pretty Travel Mugs .. perfect for taking your coffee or tea on the go! In the mornings you can can guarantee that I've got my travel mug with me full of hot tea. This mug does such a good job keeping my tea hot even when the commute turns ugly.

Right now you can get see our lovelies in our Etsy shop but our standalone shop will be up and running soon ... very soon {fingers crossed}!

Can't wait until next Friday's Feature Friday!

Sneak Peek - Patty Young Sanctuary

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

While checking out the blogs of some of our favorite designers, I came across a post that I just had to bring to your attention.

Patty Young is releasing a new collection of fabric called Sanctuary and it looks amazing! Even the selvage looks cool ...

We are such fans of Patty's!  On her blog she says "It is my most sophisticated line to date and showcases some of the best drawing I've ever done... plus it has the widest range of print sizes of any of my existing collections... pattern sizes range from a teeny-tiny 1/2" to a full 24" repeat, and everything in between!"

The collection should be coming out this fall and we will absolutely be carrying it just as soon as we can.

Just look at the blues and lime greens ... pinks and oranges!  I'm so in love and all I can see is just a little peek. {sigh} I love getting sneak peeks but then I just die when I can't get my hands on it immediately.  I'm thinking maybe I should get some help for my lack of patience and maybe also for my fabric addiction  ... nah! The fabric addiction is way too much fun!!

For those who love Patty as much as we do, we've still got a bit of her Flora & Fauna collection available and for now we've got it listed at 25% off along with a bunch of gorgeous fabrics!

Off to stalk our other favorite designers and see what other goodies I can find!

Happy Sewing!
